🚨TRENDING: "Being a Virgin Doesn't Make You Wife Material" — Chiwetalu Agu Sparks Debate
Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has set social media buzzing after declaring that being a virgin alone does not make someone wife or husband material.
According to the legendary actor, while virginity is a virtue that represents purity, it should never be the only reason for choosing a life partner.
"Keeping your virginity or being a virgin does not automatically make you wife material. Don't marry a woman simply because she is a virgin. The same thing applies to men."
Agu explained that virginity does not guarantee qualities such as loyalty, honesty, emotional intelligence, maturity, kindness or compatibility—traits he believes are far more important for a successful and lasting marriage.
He also advised women not to choose a husband simply because he is handsome, wealthy, successful or even a virgin. Instead, he urged singles to look for partners whose character has been tested over time.
According to him, the ideal spouse should be respectful, loving, emotionally mature, responsible and committed to building a healthy relationship. He added that if someone possesses both good character and virginity, then that is an added blessing—not the foundation of a successful marriage.
The actor concluded with a powerful message:
"Character is the foundation of a lasting marriage. Everything else is secondary."
💬 Do you agree with Chiwetalu Agu?
Is virginity still one of the most important qualities to look for in a spouse, or should character always come first?
