A few weeks ago, I was in a hurry to get somewhere that suddenly felt very important. The cab I took was speeding, overtaking recklessly, and I didn't really care because I needed to meet up. Then, just a few meters ahead, another car lost control. In seconds, what had been an ordinary road became a scene of panic. Well, I arrived at my destination safely, but someone else didn't.
As I sat there, one thought refused to leave my mind: no appointment is more important than arriving alive. That day helped me reaffirm the need for safe driving. While speed can be celebrated, safety is more important. I no longer assume every journey will end well simply because it always has.
You see, life has a way of reminding us that some regrets cannot be reversed. A few minutes of patience can save a lifetime of pain. If you're driving today, slow down. If you're crossing the road, stay alert. If you're tempted to use your phone while behind the wheel, please put it away. The destination will still be there. Make sure you are too.

No destination is worth risking a life.
May we all arrive at our destinations safely.
It is a good reminder to drive carefully and safely.
Assume that every other driver or pedestrian is unpredictable, distracted, or prone to making dangerous mistakes. Anticipate erratic behavior rather than trusting others to follow traffic rules, you can react safely. It is better to arrive late than to be address...
