One of the most frustrating things about healthcare in Nigeria is how poor communication from some HMOs can delay access to care.

Yesterday, I visited a hospital for a routine checkup, only to be told that my HMO did not approve the hospital for use. The surprising part was that no prior communication was sent to me about this.

Patients shouldn't have to go through multiple calls and follow-ups just to confirm appointments, approvals, or access prescribed medications.

When health is involved, timely and proactive communication isn't optional, it's essential.
