Tems Makes History As First African Female Artist To Earn US Diamond

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems (Temilade Openiyi) has become the first African female artist to earn a RIAA Diamond-certified single in the US. She achieved the milestone with "Wait For U," her collaboration with Future and Drake, after the song surpassed 10 million certified units.

The RIAA confirmed the certification, noting the track has now gone 11x Platinum with 11 million units. The Diamond status places Tems among an elite group of artists whose singles have reached this rare commercial threshold in America.
