Tinubu signs Nigeria's crypto order

It's live already. The Presidential Executive Order on Virtual Assets Coordination, 2026, signed Friday, effective on signature.

New Virtual Asset Council chaired by the CBN, with the SEC and revenue service as vice-chairs. The Presidency insists it creates no new regulator and moves no powers. Just coordination.

A sandbox and a dedicated crypto tax policy sit behind it. Africa's biggest crypto market has 30 days to show its implementation framework.
