A patch of sky featuring the emission nebula Sh2-308, also known as the "Dolphin's Head" 🐬 The "head" itself is a bubble of ionized hydrogen surrounding the Wolf-Rayet star EZ CMa. It forms when a powerful stellar wind, moving at 1,700 km/s, interacts with the surrounding interstellar medium.
The "head" spans approximately 19 light-years. Sh2-308 is located about 4,500 light-years away.
