For 8 months, this transformer has remained faulty, leaving residents to suffer in darkness. The last time we were approached, we were told to contribute ₦1.8 million before it could be repaired.

The question is: Why do we still pay taxes if communities are expected to fund basic public infrastructure themselves?

Electricity is not a luxury it is a necessity. The people Makurdi in Benue State deserve better than this. Leaders must stop shifting their responsibilities onto struggling citizens.

Enough is enough. It's time for accountability.
