Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume have endorsed the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria’s ₦2 billion Endowment Fund, describing it as a sustainable model for expanding humanitarian interventions, supporting vulnerable Nigerians and strengthening national unity. The fund will finance healthcare, scholarships, relief for victims of violence, widows’ empowerment, legal aid and other charity programmes through investment returns rather than periodic fundraising.
At the launch, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo said intensified security operations have significantly weakened criminal networks, citing the elimination of notorious bandit leaders and the rescue of kidnap victims. He highlighted investments in security infrastructure, healthcare and social welfare, saying the state is no longer a safe haven for kidnappers and bandits, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and supporting affected communities.
