Vice President Kashim Shettima has outlined the Tinubu administration’s broad range of initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerian children, saying investments in nutrition, education, healthcare and livelihoods are central to securing the nation’s future. During a meeting with UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell, Shettima highlighted programmes including the Nutrition 774 Initiative, Renewed Hope Child Support Programme, Nigeria 2050 Child Foresight Analysis, Generation Unlimited Nigeria and the National Human Capital Development Programme, noting that over ₦7.6 billion has already been mobilised to combat child malnutrition.

Shettima said the administration is committed to placing human capital at the heart of national development, while UNICEF pledged continued support to expand access to healthcare, education and social protection. The partnership, both sides said, will help create greater opportunities for Nigerian children and strengthen the country’s long-term development goals.
