🚨 BREAKING: "Benue Governor Warned Me Not To Visit; There Was A Shootout During My Edo Visit" — Peter Obi Report Alleged Political Persecution To International Community

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has accused political actors aligned with the ruling APC of attempting to intimidate and restrict his political activities across Nigeria.

Speaking before members of the international community, Obi alleged that he has repeatedly faced obstacles while trying to visit different parts of the country.

«"The Governor of Benue warned me not to come to Benue. In Edo, during my visit, there was a shootout. These are attempts to intimidate and discourage me from engaging with Nigerians."»

Obi argued that such actions undermine democratic principles and the constitutional right of every Nigerian to move freely and associate peacefully.

He further called on the international community to pay closer attention to the state of Nigeria's democracy, insisting that leaders should focus on addressing insecurity, poverty and economic hardship instead of allegedly targeting political opponents.

«"Democracy thrives where citizens and political leaders can move freely, speak freely and engage with the people without fear or intimidation."»

The remarks have sparked intense reactions across social media, with supporters describing them as a wake-up call on the state of Nigeria's democracy, while critics maintain that security concerns—not politics—may have informed the actions of state authorities.

💬 What's your take?
Do you believe Peter Obi is being politically persecuted, or are these incidents simply security-related decisions by state governments?

Shade: Every contestants should move freely to campaign without threats. A performing govt shouldn’t be afraid of opponents.
