The disease is:

Corruption that never ends.

Leaders who don’t fear consequences.

Institutions that don’t protect citizens.

A reputation for impunity that makes it easy for foreign governments to say, “We’re done.”

As a Nigerian, the uncomfortable truth is this:

When your government keeps failing you, eventually the world stops pretending everything is fine.
