Urgent National Priorities Security, Jobs, Social Welfare, and Responsible Legislation

Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, opposition parties, independent parties, governors in the 36 states 774 LGA, courts, efcc 240 million Nigerians are writing as a concerned Nigerian citizen who is deeply troubled by the direction of national policy and the urgent issues affecting the daily lives of over 240 million Nigerians. Our country is facing severe insecurity, economic hardship, and widespread unemployment, yet recent legislative actions do not reflect the priorities needed to address these crises.

Nigeria continues to suffer devastating attacks from terrorist groups. 240 million Nigerians are asking when decisive action will be taken to eliminate these threats rather than relying on negotiations or ransom payments that only empower violent actors. We need a clear, transparent, and effective national security strategy that protects lives and restores confidence in government.

At the same time, millions of Nigerians are struggling to survive without jobs, stable income, or access to basic services. Street hawking has become a last resort for survival, not a crime. Passing laws that impose ₦50,000 fines on hawkers, traders, or preachers inside commercial vehicles—while the national minimum wage is ₦70,000—does not address the root causes of poverty. It punishes 240 million Nigerian for trying to feed their families. With all due respect sirs fix the root causes of poverty and hunger in Nigeria for decades

Nigeria has vast land and abundant resources. We demand your administration to prioritize policies that create real opportunities:

Large‑scale job creation across all 36 states and 774 LGAs

Free or affordable housing supported by access to farmland and small business spaces in the 36 states 774 LGA

Investment in agriculture to achieve food security

Construction of new hospitals and schools

Expansion of free public services such as electricity and broadband internet

Transparent use of tax revenue for public benefit rather than waste or mismanagement

These are the reforms that will reduce poverty, end street hawking, and restore dignity to Nigerian families.

Many Nigerians are calling for accountability and responsible leadership. We expect governance that focuses on security, economic stability, and social welfare—not laws that increase fines and penalties without addressing the underlying issues.

We respectfully demand your administration to reconsider recent legislative priorities and take bold, people‑centered actions that reflect the needs of the nation.

Nigeria deserves a future built on safety, opportunity, and justice.
