Sickle cell disorder can cause cavities (holes) in the teeth leading to dental decay.
I noticed holes in some teeth which makes it difficulty to eat meat.
I like lamb stew, very delicious,
But I had to stop eating it,
Because a piece of the meat got stuck in the hole in my tooth
Infact, I had to stop eating beef, lamb, and goat meat,
Because a piece of the meat got stuck in the hole in my tooth.
So, I changed to eating only chicken,
But the same problem occurred.
Now, I eat only fish and stop all forms of meat,
But even at that,
Sometimes, a piece of the fish still got stuck in the hole in my tooth.
This is one of the ways that sickle cell disorder affects the dentition.
