This verse records the believers' response after praying for boldness in the face of persecution.

Acts 4:31 (ASV)
"And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness."

Reflection

The early Christians did not pray for an easy life or for their enemies to disappear. Instead, they prayed for courage to remain faithful. God answered by shaking the place where they were gathered, filling them afresh with the Holy Spirit, and empowering them to proclaim His Word boldly.

This verse reminds us that:

Prayer invites God's powerful presence.

The Holy Spirit gives believers boldness to stand for Christ.

God strengthens His people to fulfill His mission even in difficult times.

Prayer Points

1. Lord, fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit every day.

2. Give me boldness to share the gospel without fear.

3. Let my prayers bring about Your power and presence in my life.

4. Strengthen me to remain faithful to You in every circumstance.

5. Use me as a witness who brings glory to Your name.

May God fill you with the same boldness that empowered the early church to stand firm and proclaim His truth with courage.
