The National Assembly plays a crucial role in the budget process.
Despite the Super Eagles having been eliminated from the competition, 6.44 billion naira was earmarked in the approved 2026 budget for Nigeria’s FIFA Men’s World Cup qualifying campaign that ended in Nov 2025.
Correct me if I'm wrong please. The National Assembly passed the budget on March 31, 2026, while president BAT signed it into law on April 17, 2026, with the World Cup qualifiers allocation still intact.
How did the world cup spending enter the budget?.
How did we get here for goodness sake?.
Must the opposition do the whistle blowing before we do what is expected?.
Wait please, how was this passed, should we really have hope on the analysis and result from the red chamber going forward? trust me, they will campaign to return again. Maybe the red chamber has a comfort that makes her occupants just flip through pages without studying.
Many questions but who will give absolute answer.
We keep borrowing and spending on the unnecessary.
We are not done with the 1.3 billion naira allocation to the fake agency and here is another one.
Independent investigation is necessary at this point please.
