Onanuga calling it “bizarre” is a classic establishment reflex, protect the image, personalise the criticism, avoid deep accountability. Until Nigeria’s security and justice systems can investigate crises in a way Nigerians actually believe, external scrutiny will keep looking reasonable, and attempts to dismiss it will only highlight the very distrust they’re trying to deny.
