🇫🇷 DIDIER DESCHAMPS GOT IT WRONG WITH KANTÉ! 💔

France’s 2-0 loss to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final has sparked plenty of debate, but one question continues to stand out: Why was N’Golo Kanté never given a chance?

Throughout the tournament, the veteran midfielder remained an unused substitute, watching from the bench as France battled their way to the last four.

Against Spain, Les Bleus were second best in midfield. The Spanish dominated possession, controlled the rhythm of the game, and exposed France’s lack of balance in the center of the pitch. It felt like the perfect occasion for a player of Kanté’s quality—someone renowned for breaking up attacks, recovering possession, and providing defensive stability.

Even if he wasn’t considered a first-choice starter anymore, there were moments during this World Cup when his experience and leadership could have made a real difference.

It raises an important question: Why include a player of Kanté’s stature in the squad if he was never going to feature?

With the third-place playoff still to come, Deschamps has one final opportunity to give one of France’s greatest servants the farewell he deserves. After years of tireless performances, unforgettable displays, and helping France lift the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Kanté has earned the right to wear the shirt one more time.

A World Cup winner. A humble leader. A midfield legend.

N’Golo Kanté deserved better at this World Cup. 💙🇫🇷😭
