He who dishonoureth his wife diminisheth himself. For she is not his possession, but his equal partner—the companion of his days, the mother of his children, and the gentle mirror wherein his true character is revealed. To scorn her is to loosen the very pillars upon which his household standeth. A man of honour cherisheth his wife as the crown of his life, knowing that in lifting her, he lifteth himself.
