"LORD, HAVE YOUR WAY."
It sounds like such a gentle, simple prayer but it may be one of the most dangerous prayers a person can sincerely pray. Why? because hidden within those four words is a complete surrender of our own agenda. We are essentially saying, "Lord, not my way but Yours."
The challenge is that God has already warned us:
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways... As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." — Isaiah 55:8–9
We often want God to bless our plans, speed up our timelines, and make our paths comfortable. But when we ask Him to have His way, we give Him permission to rewrite the script. His way may involve waiting when we want immediate answers. It may require letting go of opportunities we thought were perfect. It may lead us through seasons that don't make sense before revealing the purpose behind them.
The truth is, God's will is not just different from ours it is infinitely higher. So perhaps we shouldn't pray, "Lord, have Your way," lightly. It is a prayer that places our ambitions, timelines, and expectations on the altar. It is choosing trust over control and maybe that's what faith really is not asking God to follow our plans, but having the courage to follow His, even when we cannot yet see where they lead.
Lord, have Your way not because it is the easiest path, but because Your way is always higher, wiser, and ultimately better than mine.

We can never go wrong with 'total surrender' to God's will and plans against ours.
I remember admonishing my children during devotion this morning to always seek God's plan. If Jeremiah was set apart to speak to nations from the womb, then we have our paths to follow and this pray...
