Waking up this morning to the beautiful update on monitization was such a huge relief that sent joy and hope down my spine, enthusiasm and euphoria was competing with my Dopamine rush, happiness was everywhere on my face, but then I decided to read the CRITERIA for eligibility and I felt DISAPPOINTED, very disappointed
First we say LekeeLeke is an African grown platform with its own unique ways of African heritage but we are still being validated and made eligible for monitization by referencing to other western owned platforms like Tiktok, Facebook etc.
Do you know the implications of that? It means anybody with big numbers of followers and contents coming in to LekeeLeke today get instant earning based on the criteria, it means someone that was busy building his/her Tiktok or Facebook page will get moniitized and start earning while you and I that has been here working hard making sure LekeeLeke gets to where it is today get disqualified simply because we don't have enough Tiktok or Facebook audience, that's so inconsiderate, it's a typical example of USE AND DUMP, or should I say MONKEY DEY WORK BABOON THEY CHOP.
I know a lot of people who have sacrificed not just time and resources but have gone extra miles to keep the platform together even when some of us felt tired to push, they always find a way to encourage us with hope of light at the end of the tunnel, without knowing that the light will be shifted to those who never saw the tunnel in the first place.
Dear @lekeeleke and team, please I urge you to reconsider your decision bearing in mind the ideology of which this noble platform is based on (African own)
Earning should be based on your activity on this platform on contents and engagement (likes, comments etc) and not what other platforms says about the individual.
