THE TREE AND THE HAMMER
The hammer dreamed of building kingdoms, counting every nail as proof of life. It sang of bridges, towers, and applause, never noticing the hand that held it.
Nearby stood a tree, silent beneath changing skies.
It chased no headlines, yet every season carved wisdom into its rings. The hammer mocked the tree.
"You stand while I change the world." The tree smiled with leaves and who taught the hand to build?" For roots are sermons the earth whispers and fruit is only the echo of unseen faith. A river does not argue with its current. It simply becomes the path to the sea. A star does not race across the heavens. It shines and travelers find their way.
So too is the soul. The world will measure your footprints; heaven measures the feet that made them.
Be not only the flame that dazzles the night but the fire that first learned to burn in silence. For the greatest monuments are born from invisible foundations.
The fruit is admired. The root is forgotten. Yet when the storm arrives, it is the root that tells the fruit its name. Become the tree before you seek the forest.
Become the spring before you seek the river. For when your being is deep, your doing becomes inevitable and long after the hammer has grown quiet the tree will still be giving shade.
