EFCC Can Still File Criminal Charges Against Alison-Madueke — Amadi

Diezani Alison-Madueke's case in the UK centered on allegations of bribery that were not substantially proven. In Nigeria, however, she could face several other charges, including already established asset forfeiture. If she cannot account for how her properties were acquired, the EFCC can also charge her with criminal embezzlement and graft.
As in the UK, the EFCC would still need to present clear evidence to a Nigerian court to substantiate its allegations. If these allegations are proven, she can be tried in absentia and even convicted if the evidence holds.
