Nigeria’s crude oil and condensate production climbed to an average of 1.735 million barrels per day in June 2026, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth and exceeding 104% of its 1.5 million barrels per day OPEC quota. According to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), crude oil production alone reached 1.56 million barrels per day—the country’s highest monthly output since April 2020 and its strongest performance in more than six years.

The steady increase, from 1.483 million barrels per day in February to 1.735 million in June, was driven by stable production across key assets, improved operational efficiency and the absence of major pipeline disruptions. The latest figures signal growing momentum in Nigeria’s efforts to boost oil output and strengthen its position in the global energy market.
