𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗧𝗧𝗜 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗬𝗜 𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜’𝗦 𝗔𝗟𝗠𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥, 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘.

Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has approved immediate steps towards the rehabilitation of Ibeama Primary School, Ndume Otuka, the school attended by Nigeria's first Military Head of State, late General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi. The Governor in his magnanimity also directed the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Otumchere Oti, to inspect the road leading to the late General's residence and submit a report for urgent government intervention. Governor Otti gave the directives during a grand civic reception organised in honour of the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Nmeregini, at Ibeama Primary School, Ndume, Umuahia North, following appeals made by leaders of the community. He explained that the school would be captured under the State's ongoing comprehensive school rehabilitation programme, while directing the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB to commence the necessary processes without delay.

Governor Otti thanked the people of Umuahia East State Constituency for their overwhelming support and appreciation of his administration's efforts, assuring them that the government would remain focused on delivering projects that directly improve the lives of the people. He also commended the community for organising a thanksgiving ceremony in honour of their son, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Nmeregini, noting that gratitude to God remains a noble virtue. The Governor expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in his administration and acknowledged the commitment of the people to continue supporting the Labour Party and its candidates in future elections.

Earlier, the President-General of Ndume Otuka Development Union, Deacon Okezie Onyemauwa, alongside Elder Chimezie Ndukwe, praised Governor Otti's people-focused leadership and thanked him for the remarkable transformation taking place across Abia State. They appealed for the rehabilitation of the road leading to late General Aguiyi-Ironsi's residence and the renovation of the historic primary school, while pledging their continued support for the Governor.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Nmeregini appreciated Governor Otti for honouring the occasion despite his demanding schedule and noted that many who previously belonged to different political parties have now embraced the Governor's leadership because of the visible changes across the State. Also speaking, the Chief Host, Chief Kingsley Amaechi Offor, Chairman of Kingsuo Global Maritime Limited, applauded the Governor's performance and thanked him for identifying with the people of Umuahia East. Among dignitaries present were Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Rt. Hon.Ginger O. Onwusibe, Secretary to the State Government, Dr.Emmanuel Meribole, members of the State Executive Council and top political leaders.
