Vain glory is an excessive, unwarranted pride in our own accomplishments, qualities, or status. It is a compulsive need to show off accomplishments, wealth, or status just to be noticed by others. Empty glory is the next level of pride. While pride is an excessive belief in our own superiority, vain glory is the desperate hunger for others to notice and praise us for it.
