A persistent stereotype perpetuated by many storytellers, including African filmmakers, is the deliberate diminishment of ancient African intelligence. 

‎As the cradle of civilization, Africa demonstrated sophisticated problem-solving across the interregnum of different eras and innovation.

‎Yet narratives that portray ancient Africans as reacting primitively to mirrors, oceans, art, or shiny objects continue to circulate. Are these distortions still being told today?
