A persistent stereotype perpetuated by many storytellers, including African filmmakers, is the deliberate diminishment of ancient African intelligence.
As the cradle of civilization, Africa demonstrated sophisticated problem-solving across the interregnum of different eras and innovation.
Yet narratives that portray ancient Africans as reacting primitively to mirrors, oceans, art, or shiny objects continue to circulate. Are these distortions still being told today?
