While he did not frame it as a direct accusation, the implication is clear: he feels persistently targeted, frustrated, and subjected to coordinated pressure.

His experience at the airport raises further questions. Is there no established presidential or executive protocol for national airports? Should Peter Obi, a former governor and a leading opposition figure, be treated differently from other high‑profile political actors? Many Nigerians believe these repeated disruptions and attacks are part of a broader effort to weaken his political momentum and frustrate his presidential ambition.

What the government seems to underestimate is the public mood. People are exhausted, disillusioned, and eager for genuine change, provided they are allowed a free and fair electoral process. Any attack on Peter Obi is not just an attack on one man; it is an indirect assault on millions who see him as a symbol of hope, accountability, and a pathway to a more dignified future.

In essence: targeting Obi is targeting the aspirations of citizens who are demanding something better.
