🦅 Super Falcons Unveil Strong 25-Woman Squad for WAFCON 2026 Title Defence

The Nigeria Football Federation has officially released the 25-player Super Falcons squad selected by Head Coach Justine Madugu for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The tournament, which runs from 26 July to 16 August 2026, will see Nigeria chasing a record-extending continental triumph as the Super Falcons set their sights on retaining the African title.

Leading the squad is captain Rasheedat Ajibade, alongside Africa’s reigning top goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, veteran defender Osinachi Ohale, midfield maestro Jennifer Echegini, and six-time African Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala. The team also features a blend of experienced campaigners and exciting young talents eager to make their mark on the continental stage.

This year’s tournament will make history as 16 nations compete for the first time, making it the biggest WAFCON ever. Beyond the continental title, there is even more at stake, with the four semi-finalists earning automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, while the fifth-placed team will secure a place in the intercontinental playoffs.
