Reflection on Acts 1:8–9 (NIV)

Jesus' final words to His disciples were not about fear or uncertainty but about power, purpose, and promise. He assured them that they would receive the power of the Holy Spirit, not to seek personal glory, but to boldly testify about Him everywhere—from their local communities to the ends of the earth.

Verse 9 reminds us that after giving this commission, Jesus ascended into heaven. Although He was no longer physically with His disciples, He did not leave them alone. He fulfilled His promise by sending the Holy Spirit, who continues to empower and guide every believer today.

As followers of Christ, we are also called to be His witnesses through our words, our character, and our actions. God equips everyone He calls, and the Holy Spirit gives us the strength, wisdom, and courage to fulfill His purpose.

Prayer Points:

1. Lord, fill me afresh with the power of the Holy Spirit.

2. Give me boldness to share the gospel wherever You send me.

3. Let my life be a faithful witness that points others to Jesus.

4. Empower me to overcome fear, discouragement, and every obstacle to Your work.

5. May Your name be glorified through my life until the ends of the earth.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Fill me with Your power and make me a faithful witness of Jesus Christ. Give me courage to proclaim Your truth, love to reach others, and strength to remain faithful until the end. Let my life bring glory to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
