Too Many Doors Opened for One Man

Imagine someone walks into a bank claiming to be the Managing Director of a company that doesn’t exist.

Would the bank simply believe him?

Probably not.

Now imagine that same person reportedly secures office accommodation, processes official correspondence, appears in government records, participates in official events, and interacts with several federal institutions.

At what point should someone have asked:

“Can we verify this?”

This is why the PFIPC controversy deserves more than headlines.

It deserves a thorough, transparent investigation.

Every institution involved owes Nigerians an explanation.

If documents were forged, how were they accepted?

If letters were fake, why were they acted upon?

If approvals were issued, who signed them?

If procedures were bypassed, who bypassed them?

If no procedures were bypassed, then what really happened?

This controversy has exposed something that should concern every Nigerian.

Strong institutions are not measured by beautiful buildings or official seals.

They are measured by their ability to detect irregularities before they become national scandals.

Whether this turns out to be a case of sophisticated deception or institutional negligence, Nigerians deserve accountability.

Because public confidence is built not by silence, but by transparency.

Tomorrow, in Part 3, we’ll ask the biggest question of all:

Is government trying to protect the system, or expose everyone responsible?

That may determine how history remembers this scandal.
