Your Excellencies President Tinubu, Governors of the 36 States, and Chairmen of the 774 Local Government Areas, 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concern and sorrow over the tragic death of Sunday Aimiyekagbon, a 72-year-old Nigerian who was swept away by floodwaters in Agbor, Ika South LGA, Delta State. This heartbreaking incident, which occurred on July 8, 2026, should never happen in a nation where leaders are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting lives and using public funds for the welfare of 240 million Nigerians

Nigerians continue to witness preventable tragedies caused by poor drainage systems, blocked waterways, and neglected infrastructure. Floods rise rapidly, roads become impassable, and innocent lives are lost. Yet, year after year, tax money is spent on personal luxuries, political campaigns, and activities that do not improve the daily lives of 240 million Nigerians

This is a humble request to all leaders: Nigerian tax money must be used to safeguard Nigerian lives. Flood prevention, proper drainage, urban planning, and emergency response systems should be priorities, not afterthoughts.

To the 240 million Nigerians, we urge you to elect leaders who genuinely care and love 240 million Nigerians. If a governor or any public official is not doing their job, do not re-elect them. They are paid monthly salaries from taxpayers' money, and they must be held accountable.

The death of Sunday Aimiyekagbon is a painful reminder that leadership failure has real consequences. This must never happen again.

Nigeria deserves leaders who value 240 million Nigerian human life above personal gain.
