Azu Ishiekwene: Nigerian online publishers deserve fair compensation from tech platforms

Azu Ishiekwene, editor-in-chief of Leadership Newspapers, says online publishers in Nigeria deserve fair compensation for usage of their contents by technological platforms.

Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on BBC News pertaining to the recent directive by President Bola Tinubu for the investigation of major technology companies, Ishiekwene said contents produced by publishers in Nigeria are being taken and monetised by big tech companies, adding that publishers hardly get anything for their work.
