STAND BY YOUR BELIEF
Ezra 8:22-23 KJV
[22] For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. [23] So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
The life and situations of a believer can be so challenging sometimes that it takes faith and faithfulness for you to stand. There are moments that what you know about the scripture is far from your reality. This was the case of Ezra as stated in the text, where he was face to face with opposition and enemies on their journey back to Jerusalem. Knowing that the enemies were strong, he was tempted to talk to the king about helping out with security as they go back but remembered that he had once told the king that their God is able to save them. He knew that going back to the king was acting against the truth he had spoken about his God. Instead of doing that, he organized a fast and turned the whole issue to God.
Beloved, you must learn how to stand by your profession so you do not allow unbelievers to blackmail God. You must be careful not to allow fear to change your mind on what you profess about God. There are moments that your testimony does not look like your situation, irrespective, return back to God for help instead. Do not go to an unbeliever for help when you have professed to them that your God can supply all your needs. Call on God and engage spiritual activities and see how God will come up for you supernaturally. Ezra refused to allow the king to ask him cant your God protect you. Do not allow anyone to question the power and the ability of your God to save to the uttermost.
This was what happened during the COVID 19, where the same preachers who preached healing and the power of God were discouraging people from coming to Church. In as much as I am not saying that COVID 19 protocols should not be observed especially by people who do not have enough faith, but I will never go back to do things that make it look that my God is weak or powerless. Stand at all times by your profession and testimony even at the risk of your life. My God will show up for you like Daniel in the lion's den. Stand by your profession always.
Daily Task
Mention five things to make your testimony align with your situation in challenging moments.
Prayers
1. Lord, I receive grace to believe in You against all odds.
2. Father, help me to stand by my profession in faith always.
