A former Chinese government official has been sentenced to de@th after being found guilty of receiving 2.2 billion yuan (about $325 million) in bribes over a 30-year period.

According to reports, Yang Youlin used his positions in Nanjing between 1993 and 2023 to help individuals secure government contracts, land allocations, and financing in exchange for huge sums of money and expensive gifts.

The court also convicted him of embezzlement, abuse of power, and money laundering. He pleaded guilty and reportedly expressed remorse, but the punishment still stood.
