Minister Dave Umahi keeps going around singing the praises of Tinubu his boss and calling Obidients to a debate and at the same time priding himself as a professor in construction. Well, his work, particularly the coastal road, seems to have countered him. The floods in Lagos around the coastal roads, which according to inhabitants of this area claimed that such never existed before the construction, show that the engineering needs to be re-evaluated. And the current impact assessment needs to be worked on.

It is not enough to say drainages were constructed. But what volume of water was the drainage construction made to take? What volume of water has Lagos received from this year's rainfall as against what was in the past and do we have experts to properly carry out studies and fix the problem?

Every engineer should be ready to learn from his mistakes when identified. The scope of studies can be expanded if some factors were not hitherto considered. And so, I challenge Dave Umahi to give a public lecture explaining the current floodinngs in Lagos State and the ways to mitigate them since he is a professor in this field.
