Two years ago in Denmark, I accidentally saw the Northern Lights. ✨
My sister had an app that showed the solar wind activity, and one night the readings were really high. I asked her to come outside to the garden with me to see if we could spot anything.
At first, all we saw were strange beams of light, almost like someone was shining giant torches into the sky. My sister said, "Maybe it's just the lights from a nearby festival." But something told me it wasn't. She took out her phone, snapped a photo, and there they were!!! THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!! We were seeing the beautiful light pillars of the aurora!!! The town lights made it difficult to see them clearly, so we drove up to a quiet beach further north. Just the two of us, two sisters sharing an unforgettable moment.
Back then, I was just excited to finally see the Northern Lights. Looking back now, I realize the real gift wasn't just the aurora... It was sharing that magical moment with my sister. It wasn't the most spectacular display, like how you see them further up north, but it was everything I had wished for. 💚
Also,, you can't really see the colours as vibrant as in the pictures in real life...
