South Africa's Minister in the Presidency has said the government will not pay compensation to foreign nationals who left their properties behind while leaving the country.

According to the minister, people who legally own property in South Africa can sell or manage those properties through the country's legal system instead of receiving compensation from the government.

The comments came amid discussions following the departure of some Nigerians during recent tensions.
