Your Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Remi Tinubu, Opposition parties, independent candidates, courts, efcc 240 million Nigerians are writing on behalf of millions of Nigerians who are deeply disappointed and angered by the news that Nigeria has been delisted from the 2026 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). This is the world’s most prestigious academic competition, taking place this July in Shanghai, China, and yet our nation—once proudly represented by brilliant young minds—is absent because of years of government funding failures through the National Mathematical Centre.

Nigerians reject the excuses, the slogans, and the distractions. We reject the idea that our children should settle for akara, corn, or token gestures while other nations invest heavily in their students. We demand serious leadership, not empty promises.

Nigeria has over 240 million citizens, including millions of talented children across the 36 states and 774 local government areas. These children deserve free, quality education and full participation in global competitions like the IMO. They deserve opportunities, not abandonment.

We demand the following:

• Stop wasting and mismanaging public funds. Every naira belongs to the Nigerian people. • Redirect tax money toward education, STEM development, and international academic competitions. • Ensure that ALL Nigerian children—across every state and every LGA—are included, trained, and prepared for the next global mathematics competition. • No lies, no slogans, no excuses. If the government is not ready to take education seriously, then step aside and do not return.

Nigeria’s delisting from the IMO is a national embarrassment. It is the result of long-term neglect, not fate. Our children are brilliant. They deserve global platforms, not government failures.

We demand you to act immediately. Restore Nigeria’s place in global academic competitions. Fund the National Mathematical Centre properly. Give Nigerian children the future they deserve.
