Ambition, vision, and mission can be powerful forces, but they can also become blindfolds when the only thing we see is the destination. One lesson life has taught me is that achievement alone does not define success. The price paid to achieve it matters just as much. Every accomplishment has a cost and before pursuing any goal, we should ask ourselves: What will this require of me? What am I willing to sacrifice and what must I never lose?

Many people become so consumed by ambition that they unknowingly trade away their values, damage relationships, compromise their character, or create bigger problems while pursuing what they believe will make them happy. Sometimes, in our desperation to fulfill a promise, we end up birthing an Ishmael while searching for Isaac. The outcome may look like progress but it is not the promise.

This is why clarity of identity is indispensable. When you know who you are, you also know what is worth pursuing, what is worth sacrificing and what is non-negotiable. Identity gives direction to ambition, wisdom to vision and discipline to mission. The greatest success is not merely arriving at your destination; it is arriving there without losing the very things that made the journey worthwhile
