GOD HAS ALTERNATIVES

Numbers 3:39,43,45 KJV
[39] All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand. [43] And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen. [45] Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the LORD.

The knowledge that God cannot be displaced or deprived of worship is very important for anyone who desires to serve Him perfectly. When you lack this understanding, you may end up making the same mistake Satan made. He believed he was the driving force behind worship in heaven and thought that without him, God would no longer be worshipped. This wrong perception led him to rebel against God. That rebellion caused him to lose his place, yet today there is no evidence that the worship of God has stopped. In fact, man was created to do what he once delighted in doing but has now been taken away from him.
The text shows that God commanded that the Levites should replace the firstborn of the Israelite as the chosen of God who will represent Him in service. The first born of every family in Israel were earlier chosen to perform that function when they were delivered from the Egyptians. (Numbers 3:13). However, God decided to change His mind concerning the ones that will be dedicated to Him and His service. I wonder what would have been the reason for this even though many people say that the act of Phinehas in standing for God against immorality would have been responsible, but this happened later and not before this decision (Numbers 25:8-11).
If this event happened afterwards, it means there should be a different reason for this. The other reason that is possible is that many ordinarily might not want to release their firstborn to be dedicated to the things of God. Therefore, knowing that men are selfish, God decided to choose a whole tribe which is easier since they know the whole tribe is given to God at all times. This can be validated by the fact that God told Moses to conduct a census of the firstborn sons in all the tribes of Israel and the Levites. God made them know that if they had denied him their sons, He already has the same number of people in the Levites. God is sending the message that if you refuse to do what I want, I can always do my will from other sources. Beloved, God can never be stranded. If you refuse to give in Church or use your gift, there are other sources through which God will do whatever He wants to do. Stop arrogating some powers to yourself, thinking that you are punishing your Church or the kingdom by withdrawing support that is within your capacity. God and His Church will never be stranded.
