Team Nigeria returned from the 2026 Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, with three silver medals and one bronze, including a historic double-silver podium finish by two Nigerian female students 🏆.
Chimfumnanya Aghaduno became the first Nigerian girl to win a silver medal at the competition.
"Wow, what a historic day for Nigeria! 🇳🇬✨
Our students just wrapped up their outing at the Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO 2026), and the results are absolutely mind-blowing. Out of the 6 brilliant minds who represented Nigeria, 5 were from Special Maths Academy.
Together, they are bringing home 3 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal! 🥈🥈🥈🥉
But here is the most beautiful, historic part of this victory: Two of our girls won Silver Medals 💪🏻.
This has never happened before. In the entire history of Nigeria's participation in this competition, no Nigerian girl had ever reached the Silver podium. Today, two of them did it at the exact same time.
This isn't just a win for the trophy cabinet; it completely changes the game for every young girl across Nigeria who loves math but wonders if she belongs at the top. It turns out she does.
Huge congratulations to all 6 participants, their incredibly dedicated families, and our tireless instructional team at SMA, who spent countless hours preparing them for this stage.
We are so incredibly proud. Let’s celebrate our champions! 🥳🥳🥳🫡🫡🫡" the Special Maths Academy Limited wrote on their social media.
Congratulations to our Champions! 💚🤍💚.
