Financial Inclusion Gap: A Bank Account Doesn’t Mean Financial Inclusion - Ogedengbe

I see access as opening the door, but financial inclusion is walking through it. Many Nigerians now have bank accounts, thanks to more banks, fintechs, and agent banking services. But access alone is not financial inclusion. A rural market trader in Sokoto may have a bank account, yet still rely on the informal market when she needs credit to grow her business. That’s the real financial inclusion gap.
