Care worker and senior care worker roles (SOC 6135/6136) have a separate transition timeline to standard ISL entries: new applications close 22 July 2028, not December 2026, per NHS Employers guidance.

Always check the current gov.uk Immigration Salary List entry for the specific SOC code, as transition dates can change.

If you are currently on a sponsored care sector visa, your existing visa remains valid to its expiry date regardless of list changes — but your options at extension or employer switch depend on rules in place at that time.
