Cristiano Ronaldo hits historic knockout milestone as Modrić bows out

History was made in Toronto as Cristiano Ronaldo (41) and Luka Modrić (40) became the first outfield players over 40 to share a World Cup pitch.

Ronaldo scored his first-ever World Cup knockout goal, converting a second-half penalty to cancel out Ivan Perišić's opener and become the oldest knockout goalscorer in tournament history.

Portugal now advance to face rivals Spain in Dallas this Monday.
