An Open Letter to Senator Adams Oshiomhole
Dear Senator Adams Oshiomhole,
There is a saying: If you want to truly know a person, give them power.
You were once a great source of inspiration to many Nigerians, myself included. As a former labour leader, you stood firmly for the rights of ordinary workers and gave many of us hope that principled leadership was possible. Because I believed in your ideals, I joined your party and campaigned for your second-term election.
Today, however, I watch with disappointment as you seem to have become just another senator wearing the cap of the Tinubu administration, rather than the fearless advocate who once challenged those in power. Many Nigerians expected that the man who fought tirelessly for workers would continue to hold governments accountable, regardless of who occupied the presidency.
Leadership is not measured by loyalty to individuals but by loyalty to the people and the principles one once defended. History has a long memory, and every public servant eventually answers not only to the electorate but also to history.
My simple question to you is this: How would you like to be remembered?
Will history remember you as the courageous labour champion who never abandoned the people, or as another politician who became silent when power changed hands?
The choice, Senator, is yours.
