Your Excellencies esteemed 240 million Nigerians are writing to express our appreciation for the United States' longstanding commitment to the rule of law, accountability, and the protection of human rights.

We respectfully urge the United States Government to continue and strengthen visa restrictions and other appropriate measures against Nigerian public officials who are credibly involved in corruption or the misappropriation of public funds. Where there is credible evidence that politicians have stolen Nigerian taxpayers' money, we ask that they, along with any immediate family members who knowingly benefit from those proceeds were permitted under U.S. law, be denied the privilege of traveling to or residing in the United States.

240 million Nigerians believe that public resources intended to improve healthcare, education, infrastructure, electricity, security, and employment have instead been lost to corruption. Strong international accountability measures can help discourage the misuse of public funds.

We also respectfully ask the United States to continue to demand the Nigerian Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to address the root causes of insecurity, including unemployment, poverty, poor education, and economic inequality. Creating jobs, improving access to reliable electricity, expanding affordable internet connectivity, strengthening education, and improving opportunities for young Nigerians would help reduce the pressures that cause many Nigerians to seek opportunities abroad.

In addition, we encourage the United States to support efforts that strengthen Nigeria's democratic institutions. This includes promoting transparent elections through technologies such as real-time electronic transmission of election results, improving election administration, and supporting reforms that increase public confidence in the electoral process.

Finally, we hope the United States will continue to engage constructively with Nigeria while supporting anti-corruption initiatives, democratic governance, human rights, and economic development for the benefit of all 240 million Nigerians in the 36 states 774 LGA
