🚨 LAGOS IS DROWNING AGAIN 🚨
Lekki underwater. Ikorodu cut off. Yaba gridlocked for hours. Homes in Amuwo-Odofin submerged.
Every rainy season, the same nightmare. And every year, we hear the same excuses.
This isn't just heavy rain. It's what happens when Africa's largest city outgrows its drains. When estates rise on reclaimed wetlands. When drainage channels become dumping grounds. When planning bows to profit.
Lagos generates trillions in revenue. Yet our gutters overflow, our roads become rivers, and our people pay the price.
✅ TO LAGOSIANS: Stop blocking drains with refuse. Report illegal construction on waterways. Vote with your voice flood your reps' offices, not just their DMs.
✅ TO @LagosStateGovt: Enforce the Master Plan. Prosecute estate developers building on floodplains. Fix drainage BEFORE the next downpour, not after the damage.
✅ TO @NEMANigeria: Response isn't enough. Prevention saves lives AND money.
The rains will come again next month. Will anything be different?
