Among the reasons given by the government for the replacement of NYSC khaki with adire is to boost local economy.
Is that to say that up to this moment there's no local textile industry producing something as basic as the low-grade khaki I see youth corp members wear?
Not to talk of those worn by the military, police, immigration, prisons, civil defence, FRSC, etc?
We're an unserious country frittering away employment, excise duties, exports opportunities and technological development.
