An Anambra State High Court sitting in Onitsha has granted NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi, leave to serve court processes on actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo through substituted means.

The order was issued by Justice D.A. Onyefulu on June 30, 2026, after the court was informed that repeated attempts to personally serve Kenneth Okonkwo with the originating processes had failed.

The court directed that the writ of summons and other court documents be pasted at Okonkwo's last known address in Nsukka, Enugu State, or handed to any adult found at the residence, with photographic evidence of the service to be filed before the court.

The order paves the way for the suit filed by Peter Obi against Okonkwo to proceed.

However, the court has not yet commenced hearing on the substantive issues in the case.
