TINUBU DIRECTS AMENDMENT OF NYSC ACT

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Ministries of Youth Development and Justice to begin the process of amending the National Youth Service Corps Act and its subsidiary regulations, following the approval of major reforms by the Federal Executive Council on Monday.

In a post on his official X account, the President said the changes would reposition the National Youth Service Corps from a mobilisation scheme into a platform for skills development, employability and enterprise.

The reforms include extending orientation camp to six weeks, introducing specialised career training, adopting technology driven deployment, and improving security through risk-based posting of corps members.

President Tinubu says the changes are aimed at preparing young Nigerians for work, entrepreneurship and national development.
